The Garden Slug @ Telok Kurau

We have been to Garden Slug a few times on weekends to bring my dog along for a ride and meal. I love the simple, no frills decor of this 7 year old cafe, and the fact that fluffie can have a meal with us! TGS Mixed Grill – Platter of Ribeye Steak strips, Lamb Loin, Bratwurst, Real Mash™ & salad ($39.80) for 2 to share. Very JUICYYYYYYYYY Lamb without the gamey aftertaste! Pan-seared Dory Fillet ($18.90) – Fresh fish and salad, with sweet mash potatoes I will definitely be back for great freshness and food value, especially when I want to bring fluffie out! Forgive the camera phone shots as it was hard to shoot with fluffie moving around! — The Garden Slug Address: 55 Lorong L Telok Kurau, #01-59/61 Bright Centre, Singapore 425500 Phone: 86888575 Email: justask@thegardenslug.com Operating Hours: Mon – Tue: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm Wed – Thu: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm Fri – Sun: 9:00 am – 10:00 pm

Cafe Melba @ Goodman Arts Centre

We were looking for dog-friendly cafe after bringing my fluff to NEX, and Cafe Melba Cafe came to mind. Given that it was only a replacement Public Holiday on a Monday (half the people I know were still working), Melba Cafe was relatively crowded. By the way, I suspected and later confirmed that Melba stands for Melbourne (MELB) and Asia (A), so the food is supposed to be Asian interpretations of Australasian dishes. We sat outdoor where it was cosy but also quite warm, and my dog was happily pampered by the children around. We had the Haddock and Chips ($24), Crayfish Linguine ($27)and Chili Crab Calzone ($22). All 3 of us enjoyed the food! The Crayfish Linguine  is cooked Al Dente, and the crayfish bisque was absorbed well into the linguine, giving the pasta a juicy texture. At the same time, the red peppers complemented the roasted crayfish, while the rocket gave the dish a bitter after taste. Complex dish with a Western-Asian blend indeed. The Chili Crab Calzone is like Cheese Prata with Chili Crab, angmoh style; crab meat, egg, …

Starker Fresh Beer (Stärker Frisches Bier) @ Zhongshan Park

After Fluff’s dinner at III Cafe, we were looking for Chillout Round 2 for N so we ended up at Starker at Zhongshan Park. They are a pub, but they allowed dogs outdoors on their foldable seats so I am glad! Starker is know for their beers. N tried half pint of the lager from their microbrewery from Malaysia, which was very refreshing and light in the Singapore heat. Easy to drink lager… I think one can easily drink a lot of this without realizing. We wanted to try some starters and I am pretty impressed by the quality of the food! If I had known the food will be so good and pretty, we would have brought our DSLR. Only camera photos for now. The Pork Belly was crispy, well cooked and big serving for a starter! The Albacore Tataki,  very classy name for seared tuna, was very well done. The tuna slabs were raw on the inside and lightly seared, served with vinaigrette. I thought I tasted a hint of plum. I could …

III Café – Bring your Own Dog Café Review

As my parents were on a short trip, N and I brought Fluff out to explore pet friendly café. III café doesn’t have many food reviews even on their Facebook, but I decided to check it out and I am so glad I did! We are greeted by the middle sister; she and the other staff are incredibly patient (my dog took about 10 minutes to be coaxed up the steps) and friendly, explaining the menu both for humans and dogs meticulously! The food for humans is ordered at the counter above, while the dog food is ordered at the ‘Barkery Café’, serving pork balls, chicken balls, liver paté, muffins among other foods. The café is also comfortable and cosy. Tip: Go early and get the black cushion booth seats – they are so comfortable for both human and dogs alike. III Café is opened by 3 sisters and their logo is designed after a pitbull dog. The “III” represents the 3 sisters but the middle sister explains that they also want the café to stand …
